EU May Expand Mission in Armenia in Response to Threats from Azerbaijan, Senior Official
The European Union may expand its observer mission in Armenia in response to threats to the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity from Azerbaijan. This was stated by a senior EU official to reporters in Brussels.
“We have made it clear to President Aliyev that we are concerned about any attempts to violate Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Our mission will be reinforced. That is what we are telling Baku,” he said, responding to journalists' questions about whether the EU fears that Azerbaijan, due to a lack of response to its military actions in Nagorno-Karabakh, may soon launch an attack on Armenian territory.
