Russia Perceives Events in Artsakh as Its Own Tragedy: Russian Ambassador to Armenia
Russia perceives the events in Artsakh as its own tragedy. This statement was made by Sergey Kopirkin, the Russian Ambassador to Armenia, during the 15th congress of Russian compatriots in Armenia, as reported by Sputnik Armenia.
“Our congress takes place under extraordinary circumstances against the backdrop of one of the darkest pages in modern Armenian history. We witnessed how over 100,000 residents of Artsakh, both Armenians and Russians, were forced to leave their homeland. From the very first days of this tragedy, Russia has been providing support both through private organizations and at the state level. This is perceived by Russia as its own tragedy,” said Sergey Kopirkin.
Vadim Fefilov, the head of the Russian House in Armenia, also emphasized that Rossotrudnichestvo has revised its priorities and is now focused on providing humanitarian aid to those displaced from Artsakh.
