Rocket Strikes Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza Likely Fired from Palestinian Territory: AP
The missile that struck the Al-Ahli Hospital in the Gaza Strip was most likely fired from Palestine, and accidentally hit the hospital, according to an investigation published by the Associated Press.
The agency notes that reporters analyzed over a dozen videos from news reports, security cameras, and social media, as well as compared the scene with satellite images and photos taken prior to autumn.
From this, AP has drawn a preliminary conclusion that the missile was launched from Palestinian territory. It likely detonated in the air or mistakenly altered its flight path, landing on the hospital.
On October 17, a strike was delivered to the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, where civilians had taken refuge. Israel has blamed the “Islamic Jihad” group for the attack on the hospital, while Hamas, in turn, accuses Israel of launching the missile strike on the facility.
