Funds Allocated to Assist Ukraine Are Nearly Depleted, Says Jake Sullivan
The U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has stated that the funds allocated for assistance to Ukraine in the U.S. federal budget have almost run out. His comments were quoted by TASS.
"The funds and authorities that Congress previously overwhelmingly approved have all but run out. We need Congressional action to ensure we can continue to meet Ukraine’s needs on the battlefield," Sullivan said.
He emphasized that the White House will maintain close contact with Congress and will consult with it regarding the transfer of new funds to Ukraine.
Previously, U.S. President Joe Biden, in a message to the public, referred to the assistance provided to Ukraine and Israel as a "smart investment" that will yield "dividends" for future generations. He noted that if Russia wins, it will not "stop" and could "attack" NATO countries, and that "potential aggressors" around the world would take advantage of the situation, leading to conflicts in other regions.
