Unconditionally Release Hostages: Scholz to HAMAS
During an attack on Israel, Palestinian groups' hostages should be released unconditionally, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated on Thursday.
“We all have an important task – to free the kidnapped hostages. They must be released without conditions,” Scholz said while addressing the German parliament.
It is noteworthy that on the morning of October 7, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army's press service reported that extremists launched more than 3,000 rockets. Furthermore, dozens of terrorists infiltrated areas near the southern border of Israel.
The military wing of the Palestinian HAMAS movement announced that it is conducting “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” against Israel. Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the launch of “Operation Iron Swords” against HAMAS in the Gaza Strip.
The number of casualties in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 3,400, while the number of Israeli civilian casualties has reached one thousand, with several thousand Israelis and Palestinians injured.
