The Risk of Escalation to a Regional Conflict: Lavrov on the Palestine-Israel Conflict

The armed conflict between Israel and Palestine carries a significant risk of escalating into a regional confrontation. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as reported by RIA Novosti.

At the same time, the diplomat noted that attempts by several countries to place full responsibility on Iran are rather provocative. According to Lavrov, Iran is taking a responsible and balanced stance and, on the contrary, calls for not allowing this conflict to spread throughout the Middle East and neighboring countries.

Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he does not know whether the existing conflict between Israel and Palestine will contribute to the establishment of a Palestinian state, adding that it would be the right decision.
