Order to Launch Ground Operation in Gaza Area Soon, Says Israeli Defense Minister

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has announced that an order will soon be given to commence a ground operation in the Gaza Strip. He made this statement during a meeting with soldiers from the 'Givati' Brigade stationed near the Gaza border.

“Right now you see Gaza from a distance, soon you will see it from the inside. The order will come,” Gallant said, as quoted by The Times of Israel.

Major General Yaron Finkelman, the commander of the Southern Military District, informed the soldiers that the ground operation would be “complex, prolonged, and intense.”

Israeli Minister of Economy Nir Barkat, who is also a member of the National Security Council, told ABC News that the Israel Defense Forces have been ordered to enter the Gaza Strip once the military is “ready.”
