Levon Kocharyan to Remain in Detention

The detention of Levon Kocharyan, son of Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan, has been extended by an additional two months. Attorney Alexander Kochubaev reported that the decision was made at the Nor Norq Court, presided over by Judge Masis Melkonyan.

Previously, Levon Kocharyan's defense team had filed a motion to postpone the hearing regarding the extension of his detention, citing a lack of familiarity with the case materials. Melkonyan rejected the motion.

Levon Kocharyan was taken into custody during the protests on September 22. He has been charged with failing to comply with the legal demand of the special forces to clear the road during a peaceful demonstration and using violence against police officers.
