VIDEO: Putin in Beijing - How He Was Welcomed

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Beijing at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Russian leader will spend two days (October 17 and 18) in the Chinese capital.

On October 18, Putin will hold talks with Xi Jinping. According to TASS news agency, the schedule for the Russian President is quite tight. On the first day of his visit, Putin will primarily dedicate his time to bilateral meetings with colleagues who are also participating in the third international forum "One Belt, One Road."

Discussions are planned with President Vo Van Thong of Vietnam, Prime Minister Settha Thavisin of Thailand, President Ukhnaagin Khurelsukh of Mongolia, and President Tonglun Sisulith of Laos.

Additionally, on Tuesday, the Russian leader will take part in an official meeting ceremony with the heads of delegations attending the "One Belt, One Road" forum with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan.

The main events of the forum will take place on October 18 at the Great Hall of the People in Tiananmen Square. Putin will attend the opening ceremony. Russian-Chinese negotiations will also occur on Wednesday, after which Putin will continue the series of bilateral meetings within the forum framework. A conversation with the head of the transitional government, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar of Pakistan, is scheduled.

At the conclusion of his visit to China, Putin will meet with Russian journalists to summarize the results of his trip.
