Turkey Willing to Become a Guarantor for Palestine, Says Foreign Ministry

Ankara is ready to become a guarantor country for Palestine in the event of reaching a peace agreement. This statement was made by the head of Turkey's foreign policy agency, Hakan Fidan.

He had previously stated that Ankara proposed the idea of creating a system of guarantors for both parties in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Turkish Foreign Minister emphasized that the countries acting as guarantors, particularly for the Palestinian side, should be from the Middle East region.

“This also applies to Turkey. Other countries should act as guarantors for Israel. After an agreement is reached that satisfies both parties, the guarantor countries must take responsibility for fulfilling its requirements. Only then can a sustainable peace be achieved,” he was quoted by the “Star” newspaper.

It is worth noting that on the morning of October 7, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip.
