Second Court Hearing for Detained Vagif Khachatryan to Be Held in Baku Today
Second court hearing for detained Vagif Khachatryan will take place in Baku today.
Recall that during the first court hearing on October 13, the court decided to maintain the measure of restraint applied to Vagif Khachatryan, which involves three months of detention.
On July 29, representatives of the Azerbaijani border service illegally abducted 68-year-old Vagif Khachatryan, who was being transferred from Artsakh to Armenia for surgery through the International Committee of the Red Cross, from an Azerbaijani checkpoint located along the Berdzor corridor.
Azerbaijan has stated that Khachatryan was “on an international wanted list.” In Baku, he is accused of “genocide and the displacement of Azerbaijanis,” allegedly committed in December 1991 in the village of Meshali in the Khojaly region.
