VIDEO: Be More Vigilant – The Police Warn Residents About New Fraud Scheme

A new criminal mechanism disguised under the names of charitable foundations has widely spread among our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. This scheme involves phishing through fake links where all bank card details are filled out, resulting in criminals gaining access to citizens' financial resources, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"It should be noted that this criminal mechanism is prevalent on social networks and is most often encountered in the form of advertisements on Facebook, where users are encouraged to click on the link and fill out their bank card details, including the CVV code found on the back of the card," the statement reads.

We urge our compatriots to exercise caution on social networks, avoid financial assistance offered by fake charitable foundations, especially when such supposed support requires the provision of bank card information. We also recommend carefully reviewing any online banking transactions and being attentive to the disclosure of confidential banking data," the message emphasizes.
