Blinken and Netanyahu Took Shelter in Bunker as Air Raid Sirens Sounded During Meeting in Tel Aviv

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took shelter in a bunker for five minutes on Monday when air raid sirens sounded during their meeting in Tel Aviv, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said, according to Reuters.

Afterward, all participants left the bunker and resumed their meeting, heading to the Israel Defense Ministry’s command center to continue their discussions. “During Secretary Blinken’s meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu and the war cabinet, the air raid sirens activated, and they took refuge in a bunker for five minutes,” Miller stated.

This marks the Secretary’s second visit to Israel since the outbreak of war with Hamas. He returned to the country after a series of visits with regional leaders.
