Israeli Response Exceeds Right to Self-Defense, Says Egyptian President
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, during a meeting in Cairo with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, stated that Israel's response to the actions of the Palestinian Hamas group in the Gaza Strip exceeds its right to self-defense. His comments were broadcast by Al Arabiya television.
“Israel's response surpasses the right to self-defense and amounts to collective punishment,” he said.
The Egyptian president also called for easing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Recently, the assistant secretary-general of the League of Arab States (LAS), Hossam Zaki, noted that a humanitarian ceasefire between Israeli and Palestinian sides could come into effect in the near future. He indicated that Cairo is currently making every effort to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Earlier, the head of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Gallant, promised to eliminate all radicals from Hamas.
