The Only Way to Prevent War is to Prepare for It, There Is No Other Way: Tatevik Hayrapetyan

Yesterday, an article was published by Politico, which mentioned that "Blinken warned lawmakers that Azerbaijan may invade Armenia in the coming weeks." Former MP and Azerbaijan expert Tatevik Hayrapetyan wrote on her Telegram page: "Following that, the Armenian service of 'Voice of America' sent a query to the U.S. State Department, which practically did not deny the article by Politico. The response stated, 'The U.S. continues to engage with leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia at the highest levels, seeking a dignified and lasting peace where everyone's rights are respected. The use of force is unacceptable, and direct dialogue is of crucial importance for resolving this long-standing conflict.'

"Aside from the article by Politico, several experts show with facts that Azerbaijan will not stop and is preparing for new actions. However, decision-makers prefer not to see this simple reality. Instead of taking clear steps, our country’s military-political leadership is participating in an event at the city hall, wasting very precious time. How can this be explained, what justification can there be for this criminal inaction?"

"Let’s try to look at the ongoing processes between Israel and Palestine, which are not too far from us. Palestine is up against one of the most militarized states in the world, Israel. There is no shortage of those who assist Israel globally. But in Palestine, they prepare rockets from water pipes and fight back against that militarized state. I bring this example to emphasize the rearrangement of forces and the steps being taken: Meanwhile, from morning until night, a thesis of helplessness and incapacity is preached here, which has already permeated people's minds. We are losing primarily in our minds. Our soldier, who fights and is ready for self-sacrifice, is not confident that papers will not be signed in his name behind his back, and he is not sure that later there won't be an order to surrender his weapon and exit the territory he is defending, as we have witnessed firsthand over the past three years—fighting and then surrendering, and losing territories. In this atmosphere devaluing the fight and struggle, actions are being prepared against us. When we talk about danger and say let's prepare, they say panic will spread. Panic spreads in cases of helplessness and unpreparedness; when you are prepared and strong, there can be no panic. The only way to prevent war is to prepare for it, there is no other way," the Azerbaijan expert stated.
