Ararat Mirzoyan Meets With Toivo Klaar
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, discussed issues related to the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan with Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, according to the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
According to the ministry, Mirzoyan emphasized the necessity of excluding any violations against Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the application of force and threats of force. He also stressed the need to continue the negotiation process in line with the key messages of the joint declaration adopted at the quadrilateral meeting in Granada on October 5.
The interlocutors addressed the forced relocation of more than 100,000 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, the situation resulting from the de facto ethnic cleansing of the region, and the need to address the rights of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and the existing humanitarian issues.
It was previously reported that Klaar had also met with the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia.
