Kyrgyzstan Ratifies Agreement on Joint Air Defense System with Russia
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has ratified the agreement on the establishment of a joint regional air defense system with Russia, according to his press service.
"The ratification of this agreement reaffirms Kyrgyzstan's commitment to strengthening strategic relations with Russia and promotes the further development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense and security," added the press service representative.
It is emphasized that the establishment of the air defense regional system will "ensure more reliable protection of the airspace of both countries, and it will also enhance security and the protection of national interests."
Additionally, the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, called the Russian-Kyrgyz agreement on the creation of a unified air defense system a major achievement. "There is a unified air defense system; we are talking about a unified system. This is a significant achievement for Russia and Kyrgyzstan," Peskov told reporters. "Of course, such joint elements are very important," he noted.
