Cargo Train with 36 Wagons Derails in Karakert-Dalarik Section
A cargo train consisting of 36 wagons has derailed in the Karakert-Dalarik section, as reported by the press service of the South Caucasus Railways company.
The train was partially loaded with materials for cement production, alongside empty wagons. There have been no casualties resulting from the incident.
Besides the rolling stock, the railway line has also been damaged. The company is currently conducting recovery operations, with expectations that the aftermath of the accident will be resolved within two days.
During this period, train operations have been halted, leading to the cancellation of suburban passenger trains on the Yerevan-Gyumri-Yerevan route, as well as international services on the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan route.
An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the event.
