The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, has stated that his country intends not to engage in conflict with Israel, according to the NNA agency.
“We do not want Lebanon to enter into war,” the Prime Minister said.
According to Mikati, Beirut's aim is to maintain security and stability in the southern part of the state, preserve tranquility along the Blue Line that separates Lebanon and Israel, and uphold UN Security Council resolution 1701, which calls for an end to Israel's violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty through land, air, and sea routes.
The Lebanese Prime Minister has called on the international community to influence Israel.
