‘If demarcation were in place, it would be clear whether Azerbaijan attacked Armenian territories’ – Galuzin
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin commented on a journalist's observation stating: 'In May 2021 and September 2022, when the Armenian cities of Vardenis and Jermuk were attacked, it was recorded that the strikes originated from the Azerbaijani side, and right on Armenian territory.'
In response, the deputy minister said: 'If the parties had initially carried out what they agreed upon in November 2020, namely, the demarcation and delimitation of borders, it would then have been clear who struck where, who seized what and how. Regarding the CSTO, the member states of the CSTO, faithful to their allied obligations, were fully prepared to send a monitoring mission to Armenia, which, if positioned, would serve as a much more serious stabilizing factor in the context of Armenian-Azerbaijani resolution than the so-called EU monitoring mission invited by Yerevan, which, according to our reliable data, is only engaged in reconnaissance activities,' Galuzin stated.
