Hezbollah Declares It Will Not Join Battles Between Israel and Hamas Unless Israel Acts Against Lebanon
The Lebanese authorities have received assurances from the Shiite movement Hezbollah that it will not join the battles between Israel and Hamas as long as the Israelis do not take actions against Lebanon, reports The Times of Israel.
On Monday, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib stated that his government has received guarantees from Hezbollah that it will refrain from participating in the fighting unless Israel acts against Lebanon.
Previously, Hezbollah had fired mortars at Israeli targets along the border with Lebanon. In a statement, the movement indicated it used a "large number of missiles and shells" during the attack. It was noted that the members of the movement carried out the attack in solidarity with the "Palestinian resistance."
The Israeli Defense Forces reported no casualties or injuries as a result of the attack. They mentioned that in response, Israeli military forces struck Hezbollah's infrastructure.
