Erdogan to Intervene in Palestine-Israel Escalation: Media
Mariam Z.
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to intervene in the Palestine-Israel escalation, as Ankara aims to maintain its mediatory position, Hürriyet reported on Monday.
“Following Hakan Fidan's (Turkey's Foreign Minister) 'clean diplomacy,' President Erdogan's intervention is anticipated at the level of state leaders. Turkey is making efforts to prevent the deepening and spreading of the war. The country is working on a format that would be acceptable to both parties to achieve a ceasefire,” the publication states.
The report notes that “Turkey is the country that can speak to both Israel and Palestine at this stage.”
