Armenian Foreign Ministry's Statement on Requesting Fuel from Moscow
The Armenian side has requested an increase in quotas for gasoline and diesel fuel from Russia, as stated by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasizing that "Yerevan has never asked Moscow for free supplies of diesel fuel or gasoline."
According to the cooperation agreement signed in 2013 regarding the supply of gas, oil products, and natural diamonds between the parties, Russia establishes indicative quotas for the export of oil products to Armenia each year. The quotas for gasoline and diesel fuel were exhausted by the beginning of October 2023, and the Armenian side has requested an increase in these quotas, which has been partially granted, allowing Armenian importers to purchase and import 15,000 tons of gasoline and 20,000 tons of diesel fuel from Russia.
