French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that sanctions against Azerbaijan will be 'counterproductive', emphasizing the need for dialogue with Baku.
According to Macron, the EU should not impose sanctions on Azerbaijan due to the situation created in Nagorno-Karabakh.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had refused to travel to Spain to meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and EU leaders, citing 'Paris's unconstructive attitude towards Baku.'
