‘It’s Nonsense’: Arman Yeghoyan Responds to Arshak Karapetyan’s Statement

Member of the National Assembly from the ‘Civil Contract’ faction Arman Yeghoyan describes the statement by former Minister of Defense and former Deputy Chief of General Staff Arshak Karapetyan as ‘nonsense’, regarding the claim that the Prime Minister of Armenia requested the arrest of former Artsakh Prime Minister Ruben Vardanyan from Azerbaijan.

Yeghoyan pointed out that Nikol Pashinyan was dismissed from his position because he did not accept the ultimatum from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and had ordered to open fire towards the Azerbaijani troops in case of a border violation.

“It’s even shameful; I ask you again, I apologize, but even asking such a question sounds offensive. If people hope to enter politics with such nonsense, I don’t know what to say,” Yeghoyan said.

Commenting on another statement by Karapetyan, who said that he was dismissed for giving an order to open fire towards the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in case of a violation of the Armenian state border, Yeghoyan noted that there is nothing to clarify in that matter.

“Do you seriously expect me to answer that question? You have so many sources, you can look at the timeline. Should I say who gave the order for what or in the absence of which order it happened? That question insults my intelligence. Nobody can be dismissed for defending the borders of Armenia. For that, people are encouraged and receive commendations,” he stated.
