It's a pity that Azerbaijan and its main supporter Turkey are not here, says Borrell in Granada
The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, expressed hope that the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be able to meet in Brussels to discuss the prevention of further developments in the regional conflict. He made this statement during the European Political Community summit in Granada.
“It’s a pity that Azerbaijan is not here, it’s a pity that Turkey, the main country supporting Azerbaijan, is also absent. For this reason, we cannot talk here about such a serious matter as the fact that more than 100,000 people have been forced to leave their homes,” Borrell noted.
“I hope that meetings can take place in Brussels between Armenia and Azerbaijan, especially to prevent further developments in the conflict and to politically stabilize Armenia,” the European official concluded.
