Zakhrova Comments on Colonna's Statements Made in Yerevan

“As for France's military presence, I believe several African countries can tell you quite well about it.” This statement was made by Maria Zakhrova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, in response to the statements made by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna during her visit to Yerevan.

According to her, Paris has left African countries alone with security issues after deeming it pointless to participate in further efforts at some point.

She urged consideration of the existing experience: “That experience is real and should be taken into account,” she stated.

It should be noted that the French Foreign Minister arrived in Armenia yesterday. She announced that Paris is willing to sign an agreement with Yerevan regarding the provision of military equipment. The French minister also expressed hope that “the EU and its members will start to show clear signals just like France does, indicating that any action threatening Armenia's territorial integrity will be met with very clear and strong responses.”
