Details on Sergey Galstyan's Appointment: "Hraparak"
Yesterday, news spread that Sergey Galstyan has been appointed as the head of the military administration in Stepanakert. He is the uncle of Davit Galstyan, the leader of the parliamentary faction "Justice," and has previously worked in the Ministry of Education of Artsakh. During the election of Arayik Harutyunyan, he was responsible for the territories of Karmir Shuka and Shushi in his campaign headquarters. He is also a protégé of Bako Sahakyan.
According to the "Hraparak" newspaper, referring to its sources, it writes: "However, our sources say that he was not newly appointed, but rather on September 28, by the order of Samvel Shahramanyan, he was appointed as the deputy director of the presidential office. After the detention of the Artsakh authorities and the relocation of some to Armenia, he remained the highest-ranking official. He has told close associates that the Azerbaijani government has not appointed him to anything, and he is acting as the deputy head of the office. He had also previously stated that he would not leave Artsakh. His wife has remained with him as well. He has said that he will engage with the issues of the remaining Armenians in Artsakh."
According to the newspaper's source, there are currently just over 500 Armenians remaining in Artsakh, mostly elderly and ill individuals who were unable or unwilling to leave.
