What Promise Did Nikol Pashinyan Make to Erdogan?

After a meeting with Aliyev in Nakhichevan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced to the media that he had a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on September 11, during which Pashinyan made promises regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor.'

The 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper inquired with the Prime Minister's office to clarify when and where the corridor was promised, what the timeframe for the promise was, what risks there might be if it wasn't fulfilled, and if he did not make such a promise, why he hasn’t denied it.

In response to the newspaper's inquiry, the Prime Minister's office sent the following statement: 'In response to your letter dated 29.09.2023, we inform you that the existence of any corridor through the territory of the Republic of Armenia is not provided for in the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020. Such a thing is also not included in any document signed by the Republic of Armenia.'

However, Erdogan insisted that PM Nikol Pashinyan promised the corridor, citing their phone conversation on September 11 very clearly. Neither previously, nor in this response, has PM Pashinyan or his spokesperson denied Erdogan's claims.
