‘The individuals you mentioned are citizens of Armenia’: Zakharova on the detention of former Artsakh officials
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the detention of former presidents and other officials of Nagorno-Karabakh during a press briefing. In response to the question of whether Moscow is doing anything to secure their release, she noted that inquiries should be directed to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, as these individuals are citizens of Armenia.
“The citizens you mentioned are citizens of Armenia; some have renounced their Russian citizenship, while others have never had it in the first place. No one has approached us, and there have been no complaints,” said Zakharova.
It is worth recalling that today Armenia officially confirmed that Azerbaijan has detained the leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh.
