Erdogan Appears in Public Following Illness Reports
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a public appearance on Wednesday amid reports in local media suggesting that he is feeling unwell. On Wednesday, around 3:30 PM, Turkish television channels broadcast live the President’s arrival at the ruling party’s headquarters in Ankara. Erdogan, who got out of the car by himself, greeted his party members, engaged in a brief conversation, and then entered the building.
Erdogan had canceled his visit to Spain on Wednesday, where a meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan was scheduled to take place as part of the third summit of the European Political Community. Bloomberg, citing informed sources, clarified that the cancellation of the visit was due to Erdogan’s busy schedule. Turkish opposition media reported that Erdogan might have a cold.
