France Will Be Very Vigilant Against Any Threats, Says Colonna
Minister of Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna stated during a press conference today, "To all those who say that France has not been active enough or has responded too late, I want to say that this is not the case. I believe that France has been active for a long time and has always stood by the Armenians."
According to her, all the meetings of the UN Security Council that have allowed discussions about Nagorno-Karabakh have been initiated by France. "We are trying to create conditions that will allow us to have a resolution plan that speaks in favor of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and enables those wishing to return to their homeland to do so in safe conditions," she noted.
Colonna mentioned that she could not visit Goris due to weather conditions, but she would also like to go to Syunik, which was the first to accept individuals entering Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh. "My visit today is yet another way to demonstrate that France will be very vigilant against any threat aimed at undermining the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia. France will remain very vigilant regarding the territorial integrity of our friendly country, Armenia," she added.
She also announced that France has agreed to sign a future contract with Armenia that will allow the provision of military equipment to ensure Armenia's defense.
