At least 9 people have died due to the collapse of a church roof in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Additionally, around 40 individuals were injured in the incident. This information was issued by the regional security ministry on the social media platform X.

According to local media reports, the church roof collapsed during a baptism ceremony, although the exact number of parishioners and clergy present inside the church at the time remains undetermined. The state security ministry stated that the possible cause of the emergency could be attributed to "structural failure."
