A fire that broke out during a wedding in Iraq, resulting in the deaths of at least 120 people, was caused by the negligence of the organizers. This was announced by the country's Minister of Internal Affairs, as reported by Readovka.

According to him, the wedding organizers allowed 900 people into the hall, although the room was originally designed for 400 guests. Moreover, flammable materials were used in the decoration of the hall, which ignited due to the use of pyrotechnics.

Within seconds, the fire engulfed the massive umbrella that adorned the ceiling of the hall and spread throughout the venue. As a result, the banquet hall turned into a fiery trap. In total, 450 people were injured, with 120 confirmed dead.
