Rally in Yerevan in Support of Those Arrested by Azerbaijan
Hundreds of people are rallying near the Matenadaran in Yerevan in support of former Minister of State of Artsakh, benefactor Ruben Vardanyan, and others who have been arrested by Azerbaijan for pro-Artsakh activities.
According to one of the organizers, former rector of Yerevan State University of Economics Ruben Hayrapetyan, the location was not chosen by chance, as it symbolizes the significant contributions of Ruben Vardanyan to the development of education and science.
“What Azerbaijan is doing now is a crime not only against humanity but also against civilization. This initiative, this march is extremely important in the context of our common struggle. Ruben Vardanyan, as a civilized person, as a well-rounded and educated individual, is a true example of a Armenian, and all his activities reflect the mind, work, and values of the Armenian people,” stated Hayrapetyan.
On September 27, Azerbaijani military personnel detained former Minister of State Ruben Vardanyan and former Deputy Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Davit Manukyan, while leaving Stepanakert. On September 29, Azerbaijani border guards arrested former commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan while passing through the Hakari bridge checkpoint.
