All Individuals from Artsakh to Armenia will Have the Opportunity to Apply for and Receive 100,000 Drams, Deputy Prime Minister
The intensity of the flow of people continues to remain the same, but it is manageable, as a sufficient amount of resources has been concentrated in Goris and Vayk. This was stated by Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan during a live broadcast.
“The first urgent measure we chose included all available resorts and hotels in the provinces that had free rooms. We have booked them and asked to keep them available,” the Deputy Prime Minister said, adding that applications are also received from citizens willing to provide their vacant apartments and houses to the displaced.
Regarding the lack of accommodation for the displaced in the capital, Tigran Khachatryan elaborated that the resources required to provide housing for one family in the capital would actually be enough to solve housing issues for several families in the provinces.
Addressing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's announcement of providing a one-time payment of 100,000 drams from the state budget to all forcibly displaced individuals from Nagorno-Karabakh, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that soon all individuals arriving from Artsakh to Armenia will have the opportunity to apply for and receive this amount indiscriminately, with bank cards to be opened in the coming days. He also added that the work will be carried out through social agency centers operating in regional centers.
Talking about those who are still in Artsakh and do not have their own means of transportation, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that Armenia will provide support and ensure transport for all citizens in Stepanakert who wish to move to Armenia. He reminded that just yesterday, the Armenian government sent 40 buses to Stepanakert to transport citizens to Armenia.
“These people are not yet displaced, but they are waiting for the first possible means. We do not know how many of the 2,000 people returning will continue to stay in Stepanakert, but however many there are, the buses will return. We will support every last person to ensure they have transportation,” the Deputy Prime Minister said, clarifying that the decision was made quite early but was implemented later to avoid congestion.
