We Will Not Form a Coalition with Any Force: Clarification from Hayk Marutyan's Party
The National Progress Party has stated that it has not joined any other political force, nor has any political force joined them. There is no discussion of any coalition. The National Progress Party issued a clarification:
“We have stated that we are not going into an alliance, we will not form a coalition with any force. We have said and continue to say: if the forces that received city council mandates genuinely want to deprive the CC of power in Yerevan, then we propose to vote for our candidate.
We reaffirm our promise and goal: the CC must be removed from both the Yerevan and the Armenian government due to the created disastrous situation and the failures in all sectors.
Mother Armenia has announced that it is ready to vote for our nominated candidate. The Public Voice also agrees, but has set a condition for the distribution of offices and demands that a coalition agreement be signed, which contradicts our initial proposal. Further developments will be clarified later. We are committed to our pre-election promises and our principles,” the clarification stated.
It should be noted that earlier we reported that Mother Armenia is ready to cast its vote for Hayk Marutyan. Vardan Ghukasyan, the candidate for mayor from the Public Voice party, has responded to possible cooperation offers for the local government elections. He suggested that opposition candidates meet online “in front of the people,” promising to refrain from inappropriate behavior.
