Sanosyan Urges Understanding from Displaced Persons from Artsakh Regarding Temporary Shelter Locations
Currently, 24-hour duty is being carried out in 64 communities of the Republic of Armenia, and working groups have been established to receive our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and to address their needs. This was stated by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, Gnel Sanosyan, during today’s government meeting.
He noted that as of 08:00, 10,967 citizens have been registered and accommodated primarily in hotels, guesthouses, or adapted buildings by the regional administrations. In some cases, families have provided hospitality.
Sanosyan appealed to the compatriots displaced from Artsakh, asking for their understanding and to realize that these accommodations are a temporary process. “It is not mandatory, for example, for all our compatriots moved to Shirak to stay in Gyumri when we have similar conditions in Ashotsk, Artik, or Amasia. I kindly request that they agree so we can allocate them appropriately, ensuring all communities are included in the efforts,” Sanosyan said, adding that they will later be guided by various programs developed and implemented by the government.
