How Long Will Hotels Shelter the Forcibly Displaced? Responses from the Syunik Governor's Office
Dozens of thousands of people have been registered at this time. Auroranews contacted Edgar Martirosyan, the chief secretary of the Syunik governor's office, to understand the situation there and what challenges our forcibly displaced compatriots might face.
Speaking about the availability of free spaces in hotels in Goris, Martirosyan noted that there have not been any vacancies for a long time. “Some of our forcibly displaced compatriots are coming to Goris, being registered, provided with food, and for children, baby food if needed. If medical assistance is necessary, we provide that as well, and we accommodate them throughout the territory of Armenia,” he added.
In response to a clarifying question about whether they are only focusing on Syunik, Martirosyan stated, “We have sent assistance to Vayots Dzor, Lori, Shirak, Aragatsotn, Tavush, and Kotayk.”
When asked how long the hotels are prepared to shelter our forcibly displaced compatriots, Martirosyan replied, “As long as necessary.”
It should be noted that as of 3:00 PM, 50,243 individuals had been forcibly displaced and crossed the border of Armenia.
