Hayk Marutyan: 'There is only one option left, our faction is going for new elections of the Yerevan Council'

Yerevan mayoral candidate Hayk Marutyan announced moments ago via a Facebook live broadcast the position of their party.

“Since the first two of the seven members of the 'Public Voice' party, Artak Galstyan, who is currently in custody, and Tigran Ulukhanyan, who is wanted, cannot physically attend the first session, this means their party's seven votes will only count as five. Therefore, an opposition mayor cannot be elected. There is only one option left: we are going for new elections of the Yerevan Council. We will not be present at the session to ensure its failure. The 'Mother Armenia' alliance has also announced that it will not participate. Only the position of 'Public Voice' remains,” he stated.
