Turkey Ready to Host '3+3' Meeting, Source Reveals

Turkey is interested in activating the regional '3+3' platform and has repeatedly expressed its readiness to host a summit in this format. This was stated to RIA Novosti by a source in the country's presidential administration.

The '3+3' platform includes cooperation among Russia, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia. The first meeting of the '3+3' consultative regional platform took place in December 2022 in Moscow, co-chaired by the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, and the Director General of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the Georgian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Tbilisi had declined to participate in the regional consultative mechanism.

It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi expressed interest in activating the work of the '3+3' consultative regional platform during phone conversations.

“As one of the initiators of this project, we are certainly in favor of regional cooperation and see a successful example of this format in the case of Turkic-speaking countries. Therefore, we are solely proponents of activating this format and have repeatedly stated our readiness to host such a meeting at the highest level,” emphasized the agency's interlocutor.
