Macron Urges Armenia to Shift Blame onto Us, Says Zakharova

French President Emmanuel Macron is urging Armenian authorities to place the responsibility for the situation onto Russia. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing.

According to Zakharova, such statements could only come from people with vivid imaginations. Perhaps the French President knows something that no one else does. “We would like him to present his perspective so we could understand what he meant. With such statements, Macron reveals the mechanism of what is happening. Until now, we have been saying that official representatives from Yerevan continue to try to shift the responsibility for their actions onto others. And now we see who is prompting them to do so,” said Zakharova.

She added that Moscow is well aware of the tricks of the French authorities. According to her, their bias in the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement process is obvious. Earlier, Macron referred to Russia as “an accomplice of Azerbaijan” in threatening Armenia's territorial integrity.
