Iran Prepares to Send Humanitarian Aid to Armenia
The Iranian Ambassador in Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, has sent a letter to Iran's Foreign Ministry, urging immediate action to dispatch humanitarian aid to Armenia. This was revealed by Iranian parliament member Robert Beglaryan in an interview with NEWS.am on September 27.
He added that discussions have also been held with the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
In the conversation with the media, the parliament member clarified that the Iranian government is currently undertaking preparatory work. “Three days ago, another member of the Iranian parliament, Ara Shahverdyan, and I met with the Deputy Foreign Minister, expressing our concerns about what is happening in Nagorno-Karabakh, the situation of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and the possible crimes and threats of displacement against Armenians. We have called on Iran’s Foreign Ministry to pay increased attention to these issues. The relevant report is already prepared and will be delivered to the head of the country's Foreign Ministry, who will return from New York today,” Beglaryan emphasized.
