It is Necessary to Assess the Needs of the Humanitarian Disaster: Deputy Foreign Minister

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, emphasizes the importance of assessing all needs related to the humanitarian disaster to ensure that appropriate aid can be delivered, as well as to inform international partners about the details. Hovhannisyan made these remarks in an interview with Armenpress at the coordination center in Goris.

“We all see this disastrous humanitarian situation. This is one of the primary issues for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The visit led by the USAID Director Samantha Power and Deputy Secretary Yuri Kim is a result of these efforts. We are conducting similar work with all international organizations and partner countries; this visit will not be the last,” said Hovhannisyan.

The Deputy Minister highlighted the necessity to evaluate all needs of this humanitarian disaster to provide appropriate assistance and to critically observe the situation, keeping international partners informed of all details. Currently, all efforts are directed towards this goal. Hovhannisyan assured that necessary work is being conducted both on various international platforms and through bilateral relations with countries.
