Davit Sargsyan and Tsolak Akopyan Released from Custody, Says Prosecutor's Office
Journalist Davit Sargsyan and the former vice-rector for academic affairs at the Yerevan State University, Tsolak Akopyan, have been released from custody. This was announced by the spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, on his Facebook page.
“By the decision of the prosecuting authority, they are released from arrest due to the necessity no longer being valid,” he wrote.
It was reported the day before that they had been arrested on suspicion of committing hooliganism at Yerevan State University.
Additionally, Andranik Tevanian, the leader of the “Mother Armenia” alliance and a member of the National Committee, was also seen leaving the Central Police Department shortly before.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that Andranik Tevanian was detained near the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
