Creation of an International Mission in Nagorno-Karabakh Possible Only with Baku's Consent, Peskov States
“The creation of an international mission in Nagorno-Karabakh is possible solely with the consent of Baku,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated today while commenting on the remarks made by U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller the day before.
“There is still no clarity on this issue. Moreover, it must be understood that any mission can only exist with the agreement of the Azerbaijani side,” Peskov asserted.
The press secretary of the Russian president also noted that Moscow continues to communicate with “both Yerevan, Baku, and the ethnic Armenians of Karabakh.”
It is worth recalling that earlier, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that an international mission should be established to ensure transparency, reassurance, and trust among the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh and the international community that their rights and security will be protected, as publicly declared by Azerbaijan.
