Passengers Evacuated Safely from Metro, No Injuries Reported: Ministry of Emergency Situations

This morning, a train malfunction occurred in the Yerevan Metro due to damage to the front left wheel of a carriage. This information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.

The wheel was partially off the tracks. "Rescuers are working alongside metro specialists to move the carriage back onto the rails. Passengers have been evacuated safely at the 'Sasuntsi David' station. There are no injuries," the statement said.

Earlier reports indicated that a train had malfunctioned between the 'Gortsaranayin' and 'Sasuntsi David' stations, and since 08:50 AM, the Yerevan Metro has resumed half-duplex operations.
