No Exit Visa Required Starting January 1

Starting January 1, 2024, Armenian citizens will no longer need an exit visa in their passports when leaving the country. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan noted that it is proposed to annul all legislative provisions regarding exit visas. “Considering that this pertains not to domestic procedures but to relationships with foreign countries, we have established a three-month period for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform foreign countries about the removal of this requirement, ensuring that citizens encounter no issues at foreign border crossing points,” she stated.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also addressed the matter, questioning how it was possible for citizens to hold valid passports that were not recognized. “Starting January 1, 2024, Armenian citizens will no longer need to have any exit stamp,” he said.
