VIDEO: Gevorg Gharibyan Defeats Azerbaijani Opponent and Advances to Semifinals

European champion Gevorg Gharibyan (60 kg) secured a victory over his Azerbaijani opponent, advancing to the semifinals of the Greco-Roman wrestling World Championship held in Belgrade, Serbia.

Gharibyan faced Azerbaijan's Nihad Mammadli in the quarterfinals, winning with a score of 1:1 due to the last point advantage. The competitors earned their points primarily through passive play, but neither was able to establish a lead in the bout.

In a determined contest, Gharibyan did not allow his Azerbaijani opponent to score any points. At the conclusion of the match, the Armenian wrestler expressed his exuberance in response to the victory over the Azerbaijani competitor.
