Azerbaijan Can No Longer Broadcast Protests Occurring in Armenia: Signal Source Identified
Information has been circulating online suggesting that the Azerbaijani İCTİMAİ TV channel is broadcasting live protests occurring in Yerevan. Expert Tigran Kocharyan addressed the fact that protests in Yerevan were being aired live on one of the Azerbaijani channels.
“For two days, there has been a live broadcast from some Azerbaijani channel from the square. Today, we traced this LIVE broadcast and found out where it was being filmed. I even had to go in front of the camera and wave my hand to confirm it. It turned out that the journalists were from the Russian Ruptly channel, and that channel was selling the signal to an intermediary, who then disseminated it to other media outlets. One of the buyers was apparently the Azerbaijani channel. We called the police, checked one by one who they were and what they were doing.
Ruptly said that a decision was made to no longer provide anyone from Armenia with the signal. We told the journalists to go light a candle since they were not being shot at. We left them with the police and returned to the square. Thanks to the vigilant citizens and journalists who are closely monitoring everything happening around,” wrote Tigran Kocharyan.
